FDA finds detectable PFAS in 8 of 91 seafood samples in 2024 Total Diet Study

The Food and Drug Administration's latest Total Diet Study analyzed 91 samples across the U.S. food supply for 28 PFAS compounds. Detectable levels appeared in clams, chicken breast, cod, shrimp, salmon, catfish, tilapia, and ground beef — consistent with prior surveys showing fish and shellfish as primary dietary exposure routes.

Highest detection: Clams 2.5 ppt PFOS

How this database works

What we aggregate

FDA Total Diet Study, EPA UCMR 5, peer-reviewed academic research, Consumer Reports investigations, and independent lab testing — normalized into one searchable structure.

What we don't do

We do not invent or interpret results. Every value displayed traces to its source study with full citation. We never compare values across measurement methods that aren't directly comparable.

Updated continually

New FDA datasets, EPA testing rounds, and high-profile studies are ingested within 30 days of publication. Last update: May 14, 2026.
